Frequently Asked Questions
How much does therapy cost?
Sessions are $275 for 45 minutes and are due at the time of service.
Do you take insurance?
I do not participate in insurance plans directly. Depending on your plan, you may be able to use out-of-network benefits for reimbursement. I provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Do you offer in-person or virtual therapy?
I offer in-person appointments in Mount Kisco, NY on weekday afternoons and evenings, as well as on Saturdays. I also provide virtual therapy for clients located in New York and Connecticut.
What ages do you work with?
I work with children and teens ages 8 and up.
What concerns do you help with?
I work with children and teens who may be struggling with anxiety, overwhelm, low mood, executive functioning challenges, school stress, emotional dysregulation, and difficulties in relationships at home, at school, or with peers.
How involved are parents in treatment?
Parents are an important part of the process, especially with younger children. At the same time, I tailor parent involvement to the child or teen’s age, developmental needs, and treatment goals. My approach is thoughtful and collaborative, with care for both the therapy process and the child or teen’s need for trust and privacy.
How does confidentiality work with teens?
I work to create a safe and private space where teens can share their inner world openly. At the same time, there are important limits to confidentiality. If a teen is at risk of harming themselves or someone else, or if someone is being hurt, I am required to take steps to help keep them safe.
How long does therapy usually last?
The length of therapy depends on your child’s needs, goals, and the concerns bringing you in. Some families come for support around a specific issue, while others benefit from longer-term work. We can talk together about what feels appropriate as treatment unfolds.
What is the first step?
The first step is a free 20-minute consultation call. This gives you a chance to share what is bringing you in, ask questions, and get a sense of whether my practice may be a good fit for your family.
